Did your husband get to come home from deployment for baby’s birth?

My husband is deployed and we’re expecting at the end of September. I don’t want to get my hopes up, but I also want to know if he might be able to make it home!

I'm in the military(army) and most like he will not come home. The military says it's big on family but all of that is bullshit, they dont care that you're giving birth, they care about the mission.

it depends on what's going on with the command. If he's in Port and they are able to find him a flight out, you might be able to. But when my husband was on deployment a few of his friends were expecting babies and even though they were in Port at the time, it just wasn't possible. My husband found out he's going underway until mid September and I'm supposed to be induced then.. they said they'll try to send him home if they can, but this was a last-minute mission and I don't think it's going to work out like that. I would just plan on him not being able to make it and try to schedule things so you can do FaceTime or get someone to record.

My husband is a Marine and at the time was an E6. He was in Hawaii (we were in Southern California) and were told as long as he bought his own ticket home from Hawaii, he could go because that was the last stop before home. We bought his ticket then my daughter had fairly good timing and I went into labor right as they got to Hawaii. His chain of command told him he could not go home because they needed him. He missed our first daughter's birth by two days.
It totally depends on whether he's needed, what they're doing, if you're paying the way home or not, etc. I wouldnt expect it even if you do everything you're asked.

Nope. Depends on his COC and usually they give no fucks. He’s been home for 1 out of 3.

My co worker’s husband is deployed currently and he is not coming home for the birth

For one he made it home. But mostly because he was in between task, up for his r&r and I was having a c-section. 
So they worked with him to get him home.

my husband and i have the same issue.. he’s supposed to come back in november. his leadership “attempted” to get him to come home for the birth but that’s basically bull crap and it gets your hopes up for nothing. i wish they wouldn’t tell you or even get your hopes up because now i’m 35 days till i’m due and all i can think about is how my husband isn’t going to be here. i’m not trying to be negative and i wish you the best but in all fairness, the military never fulfills promises. it’s hard and i’m struggling with the fact of going into labor alone.
