Has anyone taken their baby to the beach yet?

He’s a little over two months old now and we are headed to the beach for a long weekend. We’re not going to take him out until after the peak hours and plan to just hang out for a bit, not long at all, when we do. Grandparents will watch him here and there at the house so we can spend some decent time at the beach ourselves! I’m excited. Any tips though? I do have a baby tent, fan, and bucket hat for him.

We just got back from a weekend at the lake and it was 80 degrees most days. We brought with us a pop up beach tent and she hung out in that while lounging on her bouncer. We have a Baby Bjorn Bouncer which isn’t very thick so she stayed fairly cool. She wore a one piece bathing suit and had a light muslin blanket over her if I felt she was too cool. She nursed every couple of hours, but spent the majority of her time snoozing away. Try to go earlier in the day to beat the heat. We went from 9-1 most days and it was perfect. Have so much fun!

Just plenty of shade and a fan should be fine! Watch your baby’s cues and if he gets overheated, take him in!

Haven’t yet but we plan to do the same in a couple weeks he will be 11 weeks when we go. Bringing a pop up sun tent, hat and light cotton onesies

Yup just spent 5 days at a cottage and did beach almost every day. We have a large tent so hung out in there with her. Husband swaddled her in a towel and she slept a lot. I brought an umbrella for the walk to the beach.
