You should go to the ER if you soak a maxi pad within an hour. If you don’t than you just have a normal heavier flow. If you want to lighten your period. A hormonal iud, contraceptive pill, implant, shot, patch or ring would alleviate your period symptoms.

This happens to me almost every 5 months. Not saying that it’s good (especially not since I’m only 16) but the hospital never did much for me besides take a blood count (I was dizzy from blood loss)
