Is it weird if I don’t open gifts at my baby shower?

My baby shower is more like a party/ celebration. I’m having a DJ and open bar. I’ve decided not to open gifts because well I’m paying for a DJ for four hours and when I’m opening gifts he will have to stop. Also, everyone knows what baby things look like right. I will be sending thank you cards to those who showered our girls with gifts.  I tell this to my friends and they find it absolutely insane. Lol 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think it's a shame for the people that buy you things they they don't get t see you open them if I am honest. But it's your party 🎉😊

I asked everyone to not wrap the gifts at my shower so that they could just get set out on a table and people could see what I got.  I hate being the center of attention and didn’t want all the gift bags and wrapping paper.  It worked out pretty well and everyone was happy to not put more work into giving me a gift!

If I buy someone a present I always want to see them open it! I've always found opening presents to be so fun. I don't see why you shouldn't do it!

I hate opening presents, like I seriously have resting bitch face while opening them, & that’s why I didn’t wanna have a baby shower with my 2nd pregnancy cause I’m just such an awkward person opening presents lol. But that’s actually a great idea & now I wanna have one & do this!! I don’t really care to see ppl open presents I give them either unless obviously it’s like my kids or SO.

It seems totally acceptable with how you have everything set up. Imagine if at weddings the bride and groom opened all the presents so the guests could see who got them what. That's completely ridiculous in so many ways.

I’m not opening gifts at mine and never wanted to. It takes wayyyy too long and I feel it’s unnecessary. If you can’t get a gift and be ok that everyone won’t see it that’s fine don’t get a gift and don’t come. I may sound mean but I’m pregnant and aggravated with the few ppl who told me I need to open gifts. No it’s not necessary!!!

Tbh I hate when ppl open their presents. It’s boring and I couldn’t care less.  Plus I get way too anxious when someone opens what I got them so usually I have to step away at that time which is just awkward of me. I agree, it’s a party so don’t make everyone stop their partying to watch another open gifts. Thank you cards are a great idea and I always appreciate them

I think seeing the reaction will be missed. That's the only reason I would say just to open them as they hand them to you maybe?
