Can it induce labor?

Silly question but if your past 38 weeks and you get your cervix checked by your OB can that induce or start early labor since something is going up your vagina?

All that’s going into you is fingers. A membrane sweep could get you to go in labor, but a simple cervix check should not

Not unless they're sweeping your membrane.

It can cause contractions but it's not very common. A sweep is more likely to jump start labor which doctors don't usually do until 39 weeks, some won't do one at all.

With my son I was getting my cervix checked at 37 weeks and as soon as she got her finger there she broke my water on accident.

Can it induce labor?
