Indoor toddler activity ideas
I wanted to share something that I do with my two years old on indoor days. We order most things online as we live on the countryside and we end up having a lot of cardboard boxes. So what we do instead of just throwing them away is that I put my son in the box in only a diaper (so he's easy to clean and so I get less laundry to do 😁) and give him watercolours and crayons and let him go wild in the box.
When he gets tired of painting, or the box is covered, I give him small containers, sippy cups without lids, etc., some kitchen tools and whatever fun stuff (that are safe to put in your mouth, because he will taste it!) I have in my cupboard, like uncooked rice, uncooked pasta, flour, oats, tea etc. I put then in the little bowls and stuff and let him play with it in the box. He thinks it's so much fun and it keeps him occupied for quite a long time (and I get so much done!). One cardboard box lasts us many days of fun, and it keeps the mess somewhat contained so you can just vacuum your floor when they're done.
If you're feeling like you don't have enough to clean (😂) you can use a baby bath tub and put food colouring in water in different containers and let them play.
Just wanted to share as it's an easy and cheap thing to do, and I know I struggle sometimes to come up with new fun stuff for him to do. Feel free to share your own tips!
