Milk allergies?

Question

Any mamas with babes with a milk allergy? If so how did you discover it, what were babes symptoms. What formula are you using? TIA!

My son did. He had mucusy, stringy poop. He also had acid reflux. His pediatrician tested his his stool and came up positive for milk protein allergy. There was microscopic blood in his poop. We ended up on elecare, which I'd a hypoallergenic formula

We found out at just 2 weeks. He had bad gas and would scream after every feeding. Tested his stool and he had blood in it. We've been on nutramigen formula ever since and saw a change within his first feeding on it. He was finally happy after eating! It was a huge relief and he's the happiest baby now.

My girl had severe diarrhea. She was born on a Wednesday and by Friday she already had a diaper rash that looked like someone burned her. She wasn't diagnosed until 5 weeks. They found blood in her stool. She was on nutramigen but was still getting positive blood in stool samples. She is now on elecare and no longer test positive. Thank God it was horrible. Every single diaper had poop in it. She would fart and there would be poop.

We were exclusively pumped breastmilk until 7w. She had really awful gas and her poop had bits of blood and mucous and she was sharting all day, literally all her diapers had poop in them and it was runny and sticky. With dairy it typically goes hand in hand with soy allergy as well she she’s on hypoallergenic enfamil nutramigen. She’s been on it for about 13w now. It took a good 4w to see the full benefits.
