Pumping at work?

Any advice on things I’ll need? How do you mamas clean your pump at work?

This is going to gross you out at first...but eventually you will come to appreciate its brilliance.
I didn’t clean pump parts at work.  I popped the used parts in the fridge in a lunch bag with the bottles of pumped milk.  I washed my pump parts once a day at home (my other option was washing things in the bathroom...nope...couldn’t do it).
The other thing I had to do to keep my supply up was pump through a second letdown - with my medela pump.  My Spectra pump was more efficient so I got by without pumping through a second letdown.

I would pump and put everything in a bag in the fridge. I'd wash everything once I was home. Make sure you have pump, nipple cream (if needed) and extra bottles to pour the pumped milk in. May want a small hand towel to wipe in case something drips.

It’s not as scary as it seems. I was pretty stressed over the transition but hindsight it is way less intimidating (I have pumped at work for 6 months and still going). I have a very large supply and book the Mother’s room at work for an hour. That gives me plenty of room if I get in allay to start pumping and I’m not running into anyone else’s reserved time. I also like having a larger block because of meetings need to get booked I can always drop down to 30 mins and not compromise a pump time. Make sure there are Lysol wipes supplied to wipe everything down after. I felt really weird putting my milk bags in the fridge with everyone’s food, so I bought a little lunchbox that was insulated to hold my milk in. Kept it cool going from work to home.

I pumped twice a day at work, my pump was a double pump that allows you to use it as a single if wanted, so it came with 2 lots of pump parts, so I’d you it as a single pump at work and use one lot of pump parts the first time and the second lot of parts the second time and then clean both lots when I’d get home
