When are you getting married ? If it’s next year (2020) I’d wait until it was closer to tell them. Then it makes it seem like you waited longer for the engagement and they may be a little more accepting.

Why hide it? Hiding it makes me think you aren’t comfortable either. Do you think it’s moving too fast? Are you having second thoughts. If so have a longer engagement. You should be excited to share your news
