When can I introduce my baby (5 months) to broccoli?

Question

She's had rice and oatmeal cereal, green beans, and tomorrow she'll be trying peas.  I noticed that they don't have premade baby food jars of broccoli, and was wondering if there was a reason.   If not, I could steam it and puree it myself.   🤷

If baby is doing well and already eating foods, you can purée pretty much anything and give it.

I would wait because it can cause gas. I started it closer to 10 months but my son had a lot of gas issues on his own. You could always add avacado to your rotation. We did spinach later too. Don't forget to rinse carrots and spinach after cooking... never use cooking water from those for pureeing because of nitrates. I read one time a doctor's statement of "food before 1 is just for fun". I liked it... it is all about flavors and textures.

I’d wait for broccoli. Only because it can make them really uncomfortable and gassy.

Make broccoli with a slice of peach or peeled apple and blended very well they love it, I recommend some mylicon before giving it to baby so tummy is settled
