Pumping, work hours and daycare

So i will be returning to work from MAT leave in 2.5 weeks. My LO (who will be 9 weeks old) will be going to to daycare as both my hubby and I will be working. My commute to work can take anywhere from 35 minutes (with no traffic which is rare) to an hour and ten minutes. So i was thinking about having a set time to leave work to pick the kid up and hubby would drop him off in the morning. Have any of you requested to leave at a certain time to pick your child up and how did your employer take it? How did the conversation go about pumping at work as well?
