I missed an opportunity

My boyfriend is in the Navy and he'll be going out to sea for a little over a month. He currently lives 4 cities away and we only get the chance to spend time with each other once every week. But this week, I missed an opportunity to see him. I decided to spend time with my family this weekend, thinking we'd have more time. Turns out, he leaves next week. I work mostly evening shifts and he works mostly early morning and mid-day shifts. Because he's preparing to leave, his command is having him do all day evals for the next 6 days. These past few days have been rough to get in touch with each other because we're both on opposite schedules. I just feel like I should've made a different choice. Or I made the wrong choice.
