potty training boys?

Any successful stories? tips? 
did any one wake their child up in the middle of the night to potty? i found this helpful for my daughter when i trained her not sure if it’ll help for him

We trained my son within a week 
Started with him being naked and if he started peeing excitedly yelling potty and getting him to his little potty to finish. The next two days if he was naked he would just go on his own 
Slowly added shorts with no underwear and then added underwear two days later. Have had a couple accidents when he can’t get to potty in time. 
I highly recommend Daniel tigers potty episode I believe it is season 2 episode 1. 
When my son has to go he sings “if you have to go potty stop and go right away” due to that episode!! 
For night time we cut off drinks at 7 and put a pull up on over top his underwear. Only had a couple night time pees since then. Otherwise he holds till morning!!

My son is fully trained he goes on his own and doesn't wet the bed at night. We just make sure he empty his bladder before bed and first thing when he gets up
