Pregnancy test, which to take?

Are the hcg strips and dollar tree more sensitive than the first response? I’m a day late on my period and tested this morning with the strip but received a negative. I had period like cramping Wednesday and Thursday with my period due yesterday. No cramps at all yesterday just extreme bloating. I don’t get cramps unless it’s the morning of my period so I’m a little confused on what I felt. Possibly implantation? Is it too early to test?
