Pre eclampsia?

Is anyone having issues with this already? I had pre eclampsia with my last pregnancy (twins) and delivered at 35 weeks, I was not diagnosed until the day they were born. I’m 31 weeks 3 days and have elevated bp as well as protein in my urine. They sent me home to do a 24 hr urine collection and did a blood panel. I’m so worried that it’s happening so much earlier this time. I’m hoping I can make it to at least 37 weeks to avoid Nicu time. I guess I just want to know what to expect if I am diagnosed with it this early on?

I was diagnosed at 24 weeks and I will be 34 weeks on Thursday! I’ve been on bed rest off and on and in hospital for monitoring about once a week. I’ve gone to my OB twice weekly for many weeks not for NSTs and blood work, u/s every other week. I also monitor my BP at home a lot!!! I’ve noticed my BPs are always way better when I’m laying down. We don’t think I’ll make it much past 35 weeks. I delivered at 33 wks last time due to pre-e. I would also love to avoid NICU this time around!! Best of luck momma!! Hang in there!!

It will really depend on severity. *Usually* preeclampsia is a thing of first pregnancies and IF it does reoccur it’s usually only around 20% of people who get it a second time. Those who get a reoccurance it (again) *usually* happens later and less severe each time. 
In saying that though I was one of the rare cases. I didn’t get preeclampsia in my first pregnancy, at all. My second I developed severe pre eclampsia at 32 weeks, which resulted in immediate delivery, and then my third I developed eclampsia (so I started having seizures) at 26 weeks. 
There’s no one size fits all approach with pre eclampsia. It will depend on the severity of symptoms. Some people can be diagnosed and have to deliver right away, whilst others can go weeks and weeks before delivering. Hopefully you’re in the latter. 
My 32 weeker spent 33 days in hospital, but he had respiratory distress, aggravated by not having time for steroids (my bp was 250/135, when that morning it had been low, so they needed him out!). All I can recommend is if there is ANY chance of an early arrival push for steroids, as its 48 for the full effect of them.

I was diagnosed at the start of my third trimester for my last pregnancy and delivered at 38 weeks. I’m at high risk for getting it again. My doctor started me on baby aspirin at the beginning of my second trimester for my current pregnancy to try and help counter it. I’m currently 31 weeks and literally just got home from getting some labs and monitoring done at the hospital because my blood pressure was high and I had a head ache. They said everything looked good but I have a follow up appointment on Thursday. I’m hoping to avoid getting it this pregnancy. I hope you’re able to dodge it as well. Just stay proactive. If you get head aches, elevated blood pressure, vision changes or sharp pains in your upper right stomach let your doctor know. Those are the signs I was told to watch out for.
