Asking for progress checks?

For everyone that is posting their dilation and effacement at 34-37 weeks, are you all asking to be checked or do your doctors just do it? I don’t think I get checked at all until 38 weeks.

My doctor has asked at the last couple of appointments (starting at 36 weeks).
I've declined so far.
They aren't necessary so some doctors do them and some don't as a standard procedure.

My midwife will only check if you want them to. They offer it after 36 or 37 weeks, I don’t usually opt to do it. It really doesn’t mean anything.

I was having high blood pressure and contractions so they checked for pre term labor. You can always ask to be checked

My doctor started checking without prompting at 36 weeks and will continue until birth 🤷🏼‍♀️

They didn’t ever offer to check me, finally at 37.5 weeks I asked to be checked and she hesitated bc I was having contractions. But she said I was 75% shortened and 1cm, so here’s hoping baby boy comes sooner than later

Mine hasn't mentioned it either. Im at my 38 week right now and going to ask. I really would like to know.

I ask to be checked. My OB doesn’t check at all unless you ask or she will check only at 38 weeks if you have to be induced to make sure you are at least 1cm.
