I can’t decide what type of birth control to use? I have heard of people having success with IUD’s, but also negative stories. I know a lot of people who got depressed on the pill and that doesn’t seem like the safest option. Obviously they all have risks but does anyone have anything they swear by?

What’s best for someone else may not be best for you. If you’re worried about hormonal effects, there is the copper IUD. Paragard. I have Kyleena. It’s a hormonal IUD. I haven’t had any problems with it. There are pros and cons to everything and negative experiences with everything, as well. I recommend just talking to your doctor about the possibility of the negative things occurring. It could ease your mind. The scary stories always stick out the most to us because they are scary. But the normal, no problem stories don’t tend to stick with us as well, unfortunately. Also, if you are worried about side effects, the pill is generally a good option because you can stop taking it right away. Whereas an IUD or the implant you’d have to make an appointment to get it removed. There are a few different forms of the pill, too. So if one doesn’t work well for you, another may. Some people do experience depression, and many don’t. Just one of those things you have to see for yourself.
