Why do you like kids/want to have them?

Question

I can’t possibly imagine wanting to have kids at my age yet (23). I also don’t really like kids because they’re brats, don’t behave, and don’t appreciate anything. However, I do find some kids cute. (Not trying to sound mean, just being blunt.) I’m trying to understand why people  want kids so much. Why do you like/want to have them?

Had my first at 22 and was 100% ready. I knew I always wanted kids but didn’t commit to the idea until I totally fell in love with a friends daughter. It gave my life a new purpose and level of meaning and enjoyment. It was the right decision for me because I knew how I wanted to raise my kids and I had already been married for a few years and we were really stable. Don’t feel ready for kids? Don’t have them. Super simple. I’ll be happy when I’m 40 and my sons 18 though because I’ll still look amazing and have a whole new life experience ahead of me plus stability and the joy of an adult child. I don’t regret having my kids young at all.

My children are a direct reflection of my parenting and they don’t have any of the negative qualities you listed 🤷🏾‍♀️ I wanted them because I’m fully aware that kids are a direct reflection of parenting 🤷🏾‍♀️

Not all kids are as you described. Children can and do learn. They are sponges. If you teach them how to behave they can behave. 
My children give meaning to my life. I didn't feel fulfilled or feel like I was living my life and doing what I was meant to do until my children were born. There are rough days for sure but you don't understand the level of love you can have for another human until they put that baby on your chest for the first time. 
It's perfectly fine to not want children. It's not everyone's calling. But I knew I wanted children from a very young age.

It’s funny I’m your age. And on my fourth pregnancy. I grew up around kids, I’ve worked with kids since I could work. Watching them grow and learn everyday is one of the best things about being a mom.

I honestly think for me I just want a whole family. I was adopted and never had contact with my siblings even though I wanted to so badly(I even asked my mom to buy me a baby sister from the store) I grew up watching the baby shows on TLC and from there I was in love. They can be a handful but the best feeling in my experience (not my kids) is when they’re being little brats all day and at the end of the day when you’re exhausted they come over give you a big hug and get all cuddly and all that annoyance and anger is gone❤️❤️❤️
I however have not had a successful pregnancy yet so sadly I won’t have my big family early like I wanted. We’ve lost two pregnancies (one at 22 weeks and twins at 5 and 5 and 6 and 7) at this point I’m too scared and too hurt to even try again for awhile. So I guess you can say I’ve changed my mind for now.

Yeah kids are so much responsibility but they give a meaning to your life at your worst days they make you life happier. However you need to put an effort on rising them how good you take care of them they would take care of you when you get older and sick.
