UPDATE: How much money to gift for a wedding?

Going to a wedding, they are very nice people met in college that we see once or twice a year so we love them but we aren’t very close. We don’t know how big or small their wedding is but they specifically asked for no bulky gifts and that there would be a box for envelopes. They also said gifts are not necessary but, we love them!

What do you think is a decent amount of money to give from both of us? I’ve heard the thing to do is at least cover the price of your meal but we don’t know how fancy they’re going.

The wedding was small and simple, the amount felt right.
