Any esthetician’s on here?? I am currently in esthetician school and worried I cannot make a decent living at this career.

I’m an esthetician and I definitely started out slowly at first, did pretty good working at spas but I work for myself now (own my own business) an I make a really good living. It’s a lot of sales and networking but if your shy this most likely won’t be the career path for you in my opinion.

Not me but a friend of mine as well. After she graduated she started working full time at European wax center and she’s doing fine.

My good friend is one. She started out a bit slow but once she got on groupon and started marketing her sevices more on Instagram,  etc., she has gotten her pace going. It's a lot of selling to people even though it doesn't seem like it. Networking is a huge factor. If you aren't outgoing or self motivated then yeah it may be a problem.

My sister went to school to become one. She got her license and she had a hard time finding a good job... especially when you’re just starting out because you have to build your clientele ya know. So she just wasn’t making enough money and found a receptionist/administrative assistant type job in an esthetics school.. which she still needed her license for. And started out at 18 and hour and I think now she’s at $20/hr being there for a year.
