Was this the right thing to do?

Ja

Backstory: My best friend of so many years came out in 2015 (or 2016 I can’t remember) as non-binary. She changed her name from Maisie to Andee and goes by they/them. Now, I have another friend named Kayla and she posted an appreciation post about her friend Alyssa. Alyssa and Andee have never really gotten along but Andee always tries to be nice because they’re just SUCH a nice person.

Then this happened and I couldn’t help myself! It was so rude!

Should I not have corrected Alyssa on an appreciation post of herself? My friend hasn’t said anything yet but it’s only been a few minutes, and I think they’ll be thankful. They’re always thankful when I correct my parents or anyone else.

Not that I did it for her to be like “omg ur such an ally!!!” No, I did it because I know they genuinely feel like so many people blatantly disregard their identity and it makes me sad to see them sad.

I just don’t know if I did the correct thing.
