Period concern

Ok so first off I have to take estrogen to get a period of I get one. Last month I was late and this month I started spotting two weeks ok and I use a me atrial cup and it was very light until last Friday and Saturday it was heavier. It has just been pinkish and super mucus like and stretchy. I contacted my dr they wanted me to take a pregnancy test and if that was negative start a proestrogen pill for 10 days to stop the bleeding. I did take a home test do t think I did right and if I was pregnant I think it be too early to tell since when I was pregnant with my daughter 7 years ago I barely had a pos test and was 4 weeks along. What you guys think should I be concern
