Feeling let down

Background : my mum hated her job and was miserable, so I asked how she'd feel if she just quit and instead we (hubby and I) would pay her to care for our son when I go back to work.

All good, she was thrilled, and we were sorted 🎉

4 weeks ago : mum says she doesn't feel well enough to have him full time. OK, these things happen.

Turns out real reason is she's found another job she'd prefer. But still could do 3 days a week for us 🤔

Ok, short notice but nothing I can do

Today : she's said she can only do 2 days a week, but the nursery we want for our boy is now full 😩

Yes, I'm grateful she's still helping, but it's given me very little choice with sorting care for my boy 😢

I may come across as selfish, but I have never asked for handouts, it's just the lack of notice has really screwed us over 😔
