Is it wrong for me to feel this way

My boyfriend doesn’t have any kinks or fetishes at all and likes plain sex, whereas I like rough sex, I like being dominated ect. We’ve been having basically plain sex for the past 8+ months besides the occasional choke. The sex isn’t bad but I feel like sex is hotter and more enjoyable when I’m being dominated. I’ve brought it up to him that I wanted to try some new things and he said he would try them and he did. The thing is, I know he isn’t into it and that turns me off. What should I do? I feel like it’s a lose lose situation
