Suboptimal Fetal Cord Insertion?

A concerned momma about ultrasound: 
So, my OB just uploaded my latest ultrasound report - a follow up scan after my anatomy since they couldn’t see the heat well or cord. The office is closed today and tomorrow and I cannot call and inquire about this, although I do have an appointment Thursday. 
No anomalies show, but it says “the 3VV and fetal cord insertion remain suboptimal.” Has any other momma experienced this? What does “suboptimal fetal cord insertion and 3VV” mean? 
I don’t want to worry but I of course took to google and it scared me lol I haven’t received a call from the office yet and they say no news is good news, right?

Suboptimal might mean a marginal insertion, which is where the cord is inserted closer to the edge, rather than center or slightly off center. It’s pretty common! 98% of the time, zero issues arise. But call your doctor to be safe, just to get more info. I think 3VV is just saying you have the 3 vessel cord, which is most umbilical cords.

I have no idea. Maybe they’re having a hard time seeing due to scar tissue from your C-section. I would imagine that if it was a serious situation, the doctor would’ve contacted you prior to putting it on MyChart.

I have this... it means instead of the umbilical cord going towards the middle of the placenta, it’s off to the side. For me, the cord inserts within 2cm in the edge of the placenta, which in certain cases can impede blood flow through the cord and thus cause abnormalities or slow growth of the baby. My OB was not concerned since I have good blood flow through the cord and the baby is right on track. However, I have to have repeat anatomy/growth scans every 6 weeks (through the rest of my pregnancy) to monitor the baby. 
Try not to worry about it and know that if it was emergent, they would have addressed it at the time of your scan or reached out to you sooner. You can touch base with your doctor tomorrow ☺️

It means they couldn’t see it optimally. You will probably have another ultrasound so the sonographer can view that anatomy a little better. It could have been due to the baby’s position, and they just couldn’t see those 2 things well enough . It doesn’t mean anything is wrong. Hope this helps :)

I have a marginal cord insertion - instead of being in the middle of the placenta it’s within 2 cm of the side. It can mean low birth weight or slower growth but so far scams have been showing a big baby and I already have additional scans as I’m high risk. 
Speak with you ob but even if it is a marginal cord insertion it can be managed.
