Has anyone paid for a private ultrasound?

My anatomy scan was done at 18 weeks and I really want to see my baby again. My OB said I would most likely have another but later in the 30s unless something comes up. My 18 weeks didn’t give me any awesome pictures and I guess I just want a little check in to make sure she’s still looking normal and just to see her! Im almost embarrassed to get a private scan. Husband said he would support me if I want one. If you got one do you have to let your ob know? Should I just ask them about it in 2 weeks at my 28 scan?

I got one today! It’s recommended to go from 24 weeks+ since they have more fat then and are easier too see, but before 34 weeks when they get too big and you see less. I loved it, so worth it!

Yeh I didnt get good pics at my 20wk scan, plus I never even got to take any home! Im gtn a 3D scan that Im paying for at 28wks.

We paid for private ones twice! I don't think I mentioned them to my OB at all though just cause I literally only wanted to see him again lol

I have for both pregnancies. I definitely think it’s worth it. My appointments were to find out the gender but going in and doing a 3D ultrasound and just looking at your baby would be lovely. The place I go gives you like 20 pictures so it’s really neat! I wish the ultrasound tech at my midwives office gave me that many! 😂

Private scans are like eating an expensive meal! Lol. They are literally amazing compared to the doctor office. I’ve had two & will go back at 30 weeks for the last one. The quality, is unreal! Plus, I get 15 minutes for mine and can bring whoever I want “there’s a huge sitting area for family in front of me and a large projector screen on the wall”. I say get as many as you can afford!

We did a private scan that offers 3D/4D and found out the gender that way and will be going back at 31 weeks to have another!

I had a private one! I totally recommend it. It’s a really great experience. You don’t have to make your doctor aware of it unless for some reason you want to, since it’s an elective non-medical service. And vice versa, they’re not going to call your doctor either.

I got a 3D US not at my hospital & was not covered by insurance. It was $100 for like 7 printed images. I only got it cuz i wanted to see what baby looks like 🤗 the tech said the best pics are at 30-32w. But by then hes almost here! I lowkey might go again tho 🙂 im so in love with my lil guy!! 💕💕💕💕

We had a bad one at 21 weeks.. she wouldn't stop moving so she looks like a goblin in the photo we have lol we were going to get a private one but I got diagnosed with GD so I just happened to be getting another free one in 2 weeks at 29 weeks!

Why not? Or put the money towards a Doppler then you can hear the heartbeat whenever you like 🙌🏻🧡
