My sleepy baby!

Her name is Sugar because she’s sweeter than sugar! She loves to cuddle and sleep, and I’m typing this while nuzzling her soft fur. She is a chihuahua, so she gets very nervous around new people and cats. We’re trying to get her a better diet (which basically means not giving her as many table scraps! We feed her at least a French fry from our meal every time, which I know we shouldn’t do) so she can be a healthier weight. My family and I love her with all our hearts!

She’s still not the same after my cat Cocoa died after having her for 9 years. She sleeps and eats more, which I guess might be a form of doggy depression? I try to make her happy, but I feel that I may not be enough. I saved my cat Pepper from a hoarder house about 3 years ago when she was a few months old, and Sugar basically adopted him as her own, checking on him every few minutes while he was sleeping on the beanbag and blankets we gave him. Even now, they play and Sugar cleans Peppers ears/eyes every day. They’re very close, but Sugar stays close to my side if a cat (usually Calico since Cocoa was a calico) is around. She whines and looks at me with her big sad eyes and almost makes me cry.

Overall, Sugar is so lovable she’s made me cry from all the attention she gives me.
