Toys get on my NERVES!
So my son is a little over 1 1/2. And I’m 7 months pregnant. My son has a HUGE ottoman full of toys and some bigger toys that don’t fit in there, like a ride on horse, ride on turtle, mini soccer goal, truck, and tricycle. And I separated all the baby safe toys and teething toys and put them in his brothers room. So both boys have plenty of toys. My husband and I refuse to buy more because he has plenty. We were at the zoo with my in laws the other day and my son kept saying please to a stuffed turtle, he has 2 very similar at home so we said no. My son forgot all about it and we moved on. My mother in law kept asking why we didn’t get it for him when he asked so sweetly. We told her just because he ask nicely doesn’t mean we’re inclined to get it and we didn’t want him to have anymore toys. Well, today they messaged us they were coming over and they get our the vehicle with a HUGE turtle that’s bigger than my son. Don’t get me wrong the thing is cute. But we already told them we didn’t want him to have more toys, much less bigger toys. Of course my son was happy and said please and thanks then went off to play. My husband said thanks and asked them why they did that and my fil said because in our 5 bedroom house we have plenty of room for it and that it’s their grandson so they can buy whatever they want. 😒 i wouldn’t have minded so much if it was a smaller one AND if they didn’t answer like that. I can’t stand having so much extra stuff, it doesn’t matter about how many bedrooms we have. My son has plenty of toys and honestly he just put the turtle on his bed and started playing with other toys. He hasn’t even touched the turtle since. This is the 4th huge toy they’ve given him. And he only uses one (the tricycle). I want to donate the other stuff but I know I’ll feel bad cause they were given to us. But it’s just getting too cluttered.
