Almost every time I send my daughter there she doesn’t sleep when she gets back...should I say something?
My almost one year old goes to my in laws and when she comes back she most of the time doesn’t sleep through the night at LEAST that first night she’s back. now she’s not a perfect sleeper to being with. There are nights that she’ll wake up once, twice, sometimes even three times for milk. But lately it’s not been as common. But just last night when she came home, she didn’t fall asleep right away in my arms like she normally does, and she woke up through the night.
now I noticed whenever they send me photos of her it’s usually her sitting in front of the tv watching a show. It’s almost like she was over stimulated by the tv that she’s not tired if that makes sense? Idk...
I hardly ever put tv on for her. Unless i REALLY have to do something and I’ve tried everything else, then I do for a little bit. But as soon as I’m done that thing I needed to do, I turn it off right away! She just plays with her toys, I try to play with her as much as I can, and although I am busy doing things working the house, whenever she tries communicating with me or crawls over to me I never ignore her. I talked to her. So she gets lots of interaction and play at home. Whereas there it just seems like she plays a little, but it’s not so much independent play that she’s used to at home, I’ve noticed it’s usually someone holding her or her sitting on the couch while the TVs on (so of course she’s going to watch tv instead), or it’s literally just her sitting on the floor zoned out into the tv!!!
Whenever she goes to my parents house this never happens, she sleeps great, as if she never left! and I know she doesn’t watch tv at all because well, they don’t have one 😂 I know my mom brings him for walks, my sister, my dad, my mom all interact with her and play. So I’m not sure if it has anything to do with the tv, or the lack of play? Or if it’s just all a big coincidence
I don’t want to be picky or nitpick anything because I know how grateful I am and I really am appreciative.
Do you think it’s a coincidence? Should we say anything or just leave it? Thoughts?
