Which came first for you?

Which was more important for you to do first?

I built up my career so I’d be stable enough financially to support a family as the sole breadwinner. Now we’re trying for a baby (only been trying for the last 3 months).

I never wanted a big time career or anything like that. I really wanted to be a stay at home mom if we could afford it. Before we had kids though, I nannied. But my husband makes enough so I can be a stay at home mom.

Career. Education is extremely important to me. I obtained my first degree, became married, became pregnant, obtained my first Masters, and now I’m back getting my second masters. I believe that being financially stable and prepared, with a stable career is important and is needed before having a baby. But that’s just my personal opinion.

So my mom has a heredity disease that takes like 10plus years to test to see if I have it or not and symptoms don't usually start until late 30s early 40s..(and I can also have it and never have symptoms🙄)  so I knew I wanted kids young and then I ended up having my first at 18 and now I'm 24 with my fourth and last. We plan to adopt two more once my husband makes rank (he's air Force) so once I start showing signs for the disease, if I have it, my kids will all be older and not have to go through the struggles that my mom and I did when she got sick. 
And it's also given me a while to think about what I want to do career wise. And ive finally set my heart on something so once my second child is in school I'll go to school online as much as I'm able too. (which is also a career I can continue if I do have my mom's disease).

I achieved what I wanted in my career and than decided to be a stay at home mom. Me and my husband are both executive chefs with extremely demanding and loooooong hours. I decided to stay home with our baby. I miss being in the kitchen. But I wouldn't trade this for the world

I decided to have a baby first. We knew we wanted a big family and my husband and I both agreed that it would be best if I stayed home with the kids so I could raise them exactly the way I wanted to so I felt like starting my career first was pointless since I wouldn’t be returning and it would be hard for me to leave a job I love. We are also homeschooling so it wasn’t like my kids would be in school in a few years and I would have the free time. I do sometimes wish I was interested in a career that I wouldn’t have to work all the time and still make decent money. I have a few friends that are nurses that work 3 days a month and that seems like the perfect setup

I never wanted a career. Met my husband at 20 and have been a stay at home mom ever since. Only way I would want a career is if I didn't have kids.
