Never say "no" to kids?

Is this really a thing? Do some people do this?

I try not to say it as much. I try to use other phrases like “how about later and we do this right now” or “I like that idea let’s save it for the right time”. Using more redirection then just straight up “no” as I get tired of hearing it too 🤷🏽‍♀️

I think the key is just not to ALWAYS say no. Some parents are constantly saying it. Like, it’s all the kid hears. And you can deny a child of something using other phrases that have a less negative connotation and potential impact.

It might be less of never saying no, and more of never saying just the word “no.” Like explaining to them why that particular thing isn’t a possibility or isn’t going to happen and helping them to understand so they don’t get so frustrated.

When they were little I only use it when they were in danger. Otherwise it loses its effectiveness. I just rephrased my responses so that I didn't have to use the word "no". It didn't mean that I always said "yes".

My boyfriend mother babied the hell out of him... she was her first surviving son after loosing twins at 7m pregnant and another baby boy at 3m to SIDS... 
His mom never tells him NO not even to this day. He is really naive about a lot of thing because of it. 
I truly have no idea how he isn’t a conceited brat considering he’s gotten everything he’s wanted and his parents at every well off. 
This isn’t flying with my daughter lol I’m saying no point blank whether it’s for a toy or an idea or etc. especially if it’s unneeded or dangerous.
