My daughter is 13 months and I'm still breastfeeding. I absolutely love it, and she loves it too. She's shown no signs of weaning. I'd probably breastfeed her until she's 2 years old BUT....
My husband and I want a sibling for her (close in age) and I haven't gotten my period back yet. I'm thinking I probably won't get it back until I stop breastfeeding. 
What would you ladies do? Has anyone had to make a similar decision? It would break my heart to take breastfeeding away from her and it's such sweet bonding time for us. At the same time, I know that a sibling close in age would be such a great gift for her....
I'll either breastfeed her until she's 2 and then figure out another baby, or stop breastfeeding within the next few months (daughter will be 16 months old) so I can try to get my cycle back and then try for a baby.

Why can’t you have baby 2 while still breastfeeding? Lots of women tandem feed their toddler and newborn.

I’d BF until she’s two. Having a sibling that’s  two years apart or three years apart isn’t going to make all the different in the world to your first born. 
If you have a sibling, imagine this: if your sibling was one year older or younger than they are now: how much impact would that make on your life overall?

Same boat, but I’m choosing the keep breastfeeding and figure out the next baby as it goes. My son was born about the same time as your daughter.

I would talk to a doctor about the situation. While Glow is amazing for support, the only people who can give you real medical advice are those who are trained to do so. Perhaps your doctor will be able to help you find a way to get your period back while you continue to breastfeed your daughter

I would keep breastfeeding and just keep trying to conceive mama! Im 19weeks pregnant and still breastfeeding my 16month old. I had one period when my son was 11months old and got pregnant right away. We weren’t trying but we’re still super excited!! Then a friend of mine got pregnant 2 months later while still breastfeeding her little guy and she never even got a period. Stopping breastfeeding wouldn’t be a guarantee either so I wouldn’t take that away if you’re really not ready to give it up yet!

Maybe you can try inducing a period.. look into vitex and maybe soy isoflavones I only say soy because it will induce ovulation

Hey there! My son was older just turned 3 (yes I know it’s pretty old lol) and we had tried for about 9 months unsuccessfully to conceive again although i had had my periods back for awhile. We did finally conceive 2 months after that so part of me thinks my body may have been more sensitive and wasn’t ready to get pregnant again while nursing? I’ll never really know. I would just BD without any protection if you want to start trying and eventually you will  ovulate! If it doesn’t work after awhile then maybe consider weaning? Good luck!

Try dropping feedings, see how it makes her feel. That's what I did, eventually we were just down to the nighttime session. I replaced that with some fruit for a snack at 18 months and that's when we were done nursing.

As your baby increases solids & decreases constant nursing, your period is likely to come back before you stop (with respect to extended breastfeeding). I still nurse my 2.5yo son, but at this point it's like before & after nap + bedtime & wakeup only. I've had my period back since he was 21 months old, & I'm now 15 weeks pregnant with his little brother (due on my son's third birthday).

Just start taking OPKs you may still be ovulating even though you are breastfeeding. PLENTY of women get pregnant while breastfeeding.
