Gagging/choking?

Question

My 6 week old gags out of no where. We can be in the car, on our bed, or in the middle of the night. She coughs & then gags. Or just gags and it sounds like she’s choking and it makes me freak out and idk what to do to make it stop!? Any mamas have advice.

My son did this for 8 weeks and then stopped. It’s so terrifying but his doctor wasn’t overly concerned. Just told us to rub his chest to distract him and then he would be back to normal.

My son did this all the time and it was so SCARY! Not much you can do other then sit him up when he does it and rub his back to keep him calm. Don’t hit his back as this may stop him getting it up. 
I remember driving with the radio off just so I could hear him and I don’t think I slept a wink whilst he slept. Hopefully it passes but I’d be looking into reflux, that ended up being my son’s issue.

I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but my 8 week old does some silent choking thing that freaks me out. She looks like she's choking, and turns very dark red and her eyes bulge but it's all quiet. The pediatrician said it's reflux, and after many times of me helping her through it, I observed her once without intervening ( it was the hardest thing I've ever done.) But she was able to clear it herself and went back to normal. She still does it every once in a while but I've found that holding her upright for 30min after a feed definitely helps. It makes our nights much longer, but I sleep better knowing there's a slim chance it will happen after I do that. Good luck!
