Pain During Sex

My man and I have sex around once or twice a week and sometimes it hurts a little at first but after a minute or so it’s fine. For some reason today we had sex and it hurt so bad 😫 no matter what position we tried it hurt too much for us to continue. He’s very understanding but I still feel bad. What could be causing this? It’s never happened before and I’m worried it’ll continue.
