Should I get checked?

I’ve been coughing and sneezing like crazy. My nose is so stuffy and I’ve had a headache. My boyfriend wants me to go to the hospital to get checked out and the baby but I don’t think it’s that big of a deal because I’ll get over it and the baby is fine. Should I get checked out or just stay home? I’m 36 weeks pregnant

Unless you are running a fever the hospital won’t be able to do anything. And even then your GP probably won’t do anything for you. I’ve always been told Benadryl can help, Claritin, Tylenol, and then the netipot. Your ob will want to know if you are over 100.4° I’m sure just for records but I was at 101° early in this pregnancy and the ob on call told me to stay home and take Tylenol and then follow up with my GP. My GP looked at me funny for coming in because it was just an extremely bad sinus infection that my body just wasn’t fighting off and she still did nothing but tell me what over the counter stuff I could take and use.

I had it for a few weeks and went to the docs but there is nothing they can give you so you do have to sit it out. It won’t harm baby! I’d Just keep an eye on it that it doesn’t go to your chest.

I vote you get a check up, but at a clinic, with your GP, or even urgent care. Hospital will cost way more and take a lot longer because they don't consider a cold an emergency. Also, there is a higher risk of you picking something up while at a hospital...

I had a horrible cough and went to urgent care just to get some relief. They gave me an inhaler and antibiotics. I would’ve gone to my regular doc but it was a Sunday.

I’m in the same boat, it’s best to stay home, rest and drink lots of water! I wouldn’t want to chance going to the hospital and spreading it around or pick something else up 🙅‍♀️. If it gets worse and starts settling in your chest then I’d go but honestly there’s nothing they can do but advise you to stay home, rest and stay hydrated. Colds and sinus infections are the best 🙄🙄

Just saw my doctor today for my 37 week check. I have a cold I caught from my daughter. Runny nose, congestion, headache, sore throat, sneezing. She told me it doesn’t effect the baby and to take over the counter medicine. I’m taking Mucinex cold and flu and was told that was perfectly fine to take.

Should I get checked?
