Baby constipated. What to do??

My 2.5 month old baby hasn’t pooped in 2 days. I’m starting to get concerned. He’s been a little fussy the last few days and not eating his bottles as well. He will eat 2 ounces and then be full, but will drink the other 2 ounces 30 mins later. I’ve tried rubbing his belly, and moving his legs to try and get things moving. But nothing has happened... suggestions???

My 10 week, 5 day old baby boy just saw the doctor today and I asked her if it’s fine he doesn’t poo for a couple of days and she said that’s normal-same happened to me a couple of days ago. Since your baby may be uncomfortable, keep trying to help him relieve gases, sometimes it’s burps that need to come out. Take rectal temperature! Just put plenty of Vaseline on the thermometer. Works for my babe every time!

I don’t think you should give your baby anything other than breast milk/formula, but that’s just my opinion. I’d ask professional doctor first. I also wouldn’t stick anything up his butt either. But that’s just me. Any concerns I have, I go right to a doctor. Good luck!

When my baby was constipated, I tried the brown sugar and water as recommended by a family member. Baby had it and it and had a bowel movement straight after. Method- Add 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar (the one used for cooking) to 1 oz of cooled boiled water. Offer this to your baby 3 times a day, directly before formula feeds, until his poop is soft and then stop.

Me personally have done a Q-tip with Vaseline up there (my mother taught me this trick) or the doc suggested a oz of 100% apple juice. Tried the apple juice just recently and it came right out.
