No rude comments please

So I’ve saw so many bad reviews on castor oil. And I asked my OB could I possibly take it before my induction , he said it was totally fine nothing is wrong with laxative. My question is why are so many moms against it? No rude comments I’m just very curious as to I am a FTM. Is there different types of castor oil that’s for different things or what? I picked up some at the local pharmacy and it didn’t mention anything about using while pregnant without doctors approval. It was just a basic castor oil laxative 🤷‍♀️. Again I’m just curious please nothing rude.
