How long did it take for your baby to fall asleep on their own for the first time?

If they’re happy & talking to themselves, not crying. I tend to get impatient after about 5-10 minutes of this thinking she’ll never fall asleep so I go for a quick fix of feeding or rocking to sleep but I’m wondering if I just give her more time if she’ll eventually fall asleep.

Usually 5-35 minutes. The first time was probably around 40-45 minutes. As long as baby wasn't crying I just left her and she figured it out.

First time probably about 45 minutes. She screamed and protested but eventually realised I was serious about her needing to sleep in her own bed. I was sat right next to her in my bed so she didn’t feel scared of being alone or anything

My daughter has done this a few times. Anywhere between 5 minutes and half an hour. If she isn't unhappy but awake and supposed to sleep, I just let her be.. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Around 8 months is when I was able to just lay her in there and she’ll fall asleep within a few minutes

I have been doing the extinction method of sleep training for a few days now. (Its been really hard for me) but my baby wont fall asleep any other way now unless we leave her alone to cry or in her car seat. But it takes about 15-20 mins. It used to be 30 minutes, so she is getting better at it.

Ive never rocked or fed baby to sleep. I always but her down tired and she would fall asleep after 15-20, sometimes longer depending on the day. I might have to go in a few times and give her a pacifier though. We've been doing this since she came home from the hospital.
