Nitrous Oxide vs. Epidural

Has anyone gone the Nitrous Oxide route instead of epidural for pain relief during labor? I know it’s not as effective as an epidural but with my last child, my epidural hurt my back so much afterward, it was almost hard to care for my newborn. Wondering if this alternative is worth it? I would still rather the backpain than the pain of childbirth honestly (no judgement please), so if Nitrous Oxide isn’t significant enough to make a difference between completely natural delivery and medicated delivery, then I want to know why.
