Job hunting and can't make up my mind!
I'm 7 months PP and am easing back into the workforce - my hubby will be stay-at-home dad extraordinare. We recently moved back to my small hometown to be closer to our families, so I'm on the hunt for a new job.
I have lots of experience and an MA under my belt and have applied for a few good jobs (one I'm really excited about!) in the city closest to my little town. However, I recently found a full time job really close to home - nothing exciting, but literally down the road, and I was just offered the position today. I would start next week, which is so soon!
Here's where I'm struggling - do I take the job close to home that doesn't pay super great ($6 less/hour than what I was making before, and only found this out after they offered me the job), when I'm the sole provider now? Or do I wait and hope to hear from the other jobs that I have applied for, and also keep applying for more interesting opportunities with possibly more pay, but will require me commuting to the city?
Being close to home is so tempting, especially as I'm having a hard time fathoming not being home every day with my sweet baby. I'm also worried if I turn down this job I won't find something else! My husband is amazing and thinks I'm worth more than what they're offering and that I should hold out - he also notes I would have a bit more time at home with baby...but he supports me either way.
Someone tell me what to do! Lol.
