31 weeks pregnant today. Was at the park with my mom on Friday and mentioned my fears with having a baby during flu season. She laughed and rolled her eyes at me saying I can't do anything about germs because I have a toddler. I sent her this last night and her is the convo. She is throwing me into a panic attack, I'm dizzy and feel sick. She's crazy, right?

Your mom has zero boundaries saying “fuck you” and trying to guilt trip you for things other people are saying and doing to her. 
I’m really truly sorry she is treating you that way. My best advice would be that you need to be the one to hold boundaries. Let her know she can’t speak to you like that and don’t engage with her when she does.

I get it it’s your mom but being super strict about viruses and etc can come off controlling to most people. She’s your mother and I don’t condone her saying fuck you but she raised you and you’re fine even through worker things without medical advances. Don’t take every little thing so personal because your mom has feelings to obviously!!!!

Your mom is definitely over reacting. I plan to be strict with kissing, hand washing and visitors. But I don’t want to worry myself over it. I will express that to everyone when they come to see her. No point in telling anyone now... just to hear their opinions... and then have to tell them again come November. My 1 year old almost lost his life to RSV in April and we have been going through major surgeries on his airway since. Germs are going to happen but I’ll do whatever I can to make sure we keep up on sanitizing. Going through that was the worst time of my life and I don’t want to go through anything close to that ever again.

I'm on your side hun it's terrifying to have a Newborn in winter with all the Germs. It looks like theirs been alot of family drama happening though and she let it spew out to you. 
Y'all get your shots and you just let everyone know if their planning on Visiting with y'all No-March they have to have the Flu and preferably the DTAP booster ( for Whooping cough) if they can't respect you for protecting your baby that's their issue Not yours

I had my daughter in December of 2016 in early January my two year old must’ve had some 24 hour flu thing because she was violently vomiting eventually my husband got it and I got it. My newborn was fine she was tricky breastfed so maybe that helped. We as mothers do everything we can to protect them but worrying about something that may happen won’t help it’ll just stress you out. 😊

I’m so sorry for this. You and you baby will be fine. If you are going to breastfeed your baby is going to be ok because your body is so amazing that it makes antibodies to protect your baby to get sick if you are sick. 
Ignore your mother and keep forward for the best of you and your child.

Holy cow. She’s so dramatic and making it to be all about her. I’d do yourself a favor and wait for her to come begging back to you and apologizing. You are being completely rational. I had to cut my father off because he was too toxic. I know it’s so tough.
