Why are they so hard and complicated

Me and my boyfriend were joking around about an hour or so after we had sex and we were just chirping each other like we normally do I’m not gonna go into full detail but the one chirp I made was a little to far but I made it clear that what I said was irrelevant to him.

But he then turns around and says we are breaking up, get off of me. You think I’m joking? I’m being serious and so I ended up getting upset and was about to leave and he calls my name and tells me to go to him and we hug and everything is okay but it doesn’t feel okay....

He says it is but idk maybe I’m just over thinking it but it’s happened twice bot the same reason but idk.
