Making money or teaching different cultures ?

So I came across this on Snapchat and before I even read anything I was instantly mad. To me this is just another way large companies are making money off of cultures they know nothing about specifically the Mexican culture.

Mattel is making Barbies dolls of characters and historical women which is fine but Dia de Los Muertos isn’t a character or a person. It’s a Mexican tradition where we honor our dead for 2 days in November. And yet year after year I see more and more companies using the sugar skull makeup or just sugar skulls as a way to make money during Halloween. The doll is beautiful but anyone educated on Mexican culture can see right away she’s not even wearing a Mexican dress.

So my question is do you think it’s okay for Mattel to make money off of a culture they clearly know nothing about? Would it be okay if they actually educated themselves on The Day of the Dead, Mexican culture, clothing and made a more authentic doll?

Edit: These are a few dresses actually worn on the Day of the Dead by Mexican women... none look like this doll because she isnt wearing a Mexican style dress.
