Struggling to know how to support him...

So my boyfriend feels like he’s stuck in his job. He’s the manager of a shop, so he’s climbed as high as he can, (he doesn’t want to be area manager...) and the job is frustrating him and making him unhappy.

It’s causing him way too much stress so he wants to leave. But it’s almost like he’s scared to quit.

He’s not good with change, and is really struggling making that big leap into something different, even though he kinda does want it.

So I’m saying “just do it, hand in your notice, and we’ll manage somehow, I can cover it- if you don’t find something straight away, so no pressure”. Basically telling him to quit if it makes him that miserable.

But whenever I try help look for something, he doesn’t want to hear it, and is not facing up to it and proactively trying to change the situation.

I know I need to just be there for him, and he’ll figure it out in his own time, but I just find it so hard seeing him like this.... I don’t know what I can do.
