Halfway thinned out no dilation?

I had an appointment yesterday at 35+4. They done the strep b swab which hurt and made me bleed.. it felt like sand paper being rubbed inside my vagina as it “was dry”. Then he checked me and said I was still closed but halfway thinned out. We’re starting back on metformin for my gestational diabetes which I’m happy about because I’ve put on about 32lbs and my skin has been breaking out. My main concern is I see the dr look at my hand and feet but say nothing. I have developed the pregnancy carpal tunnel so my hand hurt go to sleep and it’s just uncomfortable but I also feel as if they are extremely swollen my blood pressure is fine and I give a urine sample each visit.. but I’m just so concerned about it and their not. But back to my effacement and dilation.. anyone start off thinning out with a fast approaching labor after words?? I go back Monday for another ultra sound and my dr said at 37 weeks I’ll be full term so I’m praying for and induction after next Friday!!
