Salmonella
We just found out that my 3 year old nephew who has been sick for about two weeks has salmonella. The worst of it is over and daycare has allowed him to return.
His parents are going on a trip next week (right on my due date 🙄) and leaving him with my husband’s parents. Obviously our nephew will not be allowed to visit the new baby for several weeks but now we are wondering if we should have hesitations about my husbands parents coming to the hospital to see the baby if they have been exposed to it all week? Research online has told us adults can carry it for quite some time without showing signs. I know it is not an airborne contagion, but can be spread through saliva (kissing, utensils, etc.) and through human feces. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this and how concerned we should be?
