He doesn’t want me to meet his family

So, ive been with my boyfriend for 10months. He is still unsure of me meeting his family. He says he’s always been like that... i feel like he thinks no one is good enough to meet his “mom” his family. I asked him once & he was like im good how we are.. why get ahead.

I feel like i deserve better? Not that family is everything it matters, but it tells you if you are important to them enough for you to meet their family. Am I wrong? Has anyone been through that?

He hasn’t met anyone from my family either, i do want him to, but the more I know he doesn’t want me to meet his family the more discouraged i feel that he gets to meet mine..

His family does know hes dating me, they have only seen me from a distance.
