Blows my mind... vent post

It blows my mind how some people are so against breastfeeding. My MIL has serious issues with my BF. She bf my brother in law for a week and didn't even try with my husband as babies so she doesn't see the benefits or even understand how my body makes the perfect amount for his needs.

Prior to my son being born my husband and I talked about BF and I even had anxiety over if I could or would produce or not. When he was born 2 and a half weeks ago he latched on with in an hour of being born and it really boosted my confidence that I can really do this!

So far I've been pumping for my husband to feed him in the AM and EBF during the day. This has worked out perfectly for us and my LO usually takes about 3-4 two oz bottles with in a 4 hr range.

Recently my husband went into the hospital and she came over to help out. Let's just say it's been a lesson in patience. She wanted to give him water because she didnt think the breast milk was enough. I had to tell her so many times no. Prior to her coming over to help she tried to push the water idea on me and I told her no and what the lactation specialist and doctor said which is non before 6 months. She questioned how long will I be bfing him and would I think about using formula? I told her I would BF as long as I he wanted to and I'd think about formula when I went back to work in a few weeks. This makes me even more determined to BF now because of her doubts. She thinks he is small for his age..... again he is 2 and a half weeks and born at 7.9oz, first week check was 6.9, and the second was 7lb 4 oz. Which the doc said was good for a bf baby that he gaining back the weight he lost. Honestly I'm over her doubting and also annoyed with her pushing. I have been deflecting so far and just giving her research backed info + info from the doc. I even had her come to the last appointment so she could hear and see I was doing the right things. She said she believed but I can tell she is still skeptical.
