ADVICE PLEASE CARE WORKERS
Right so I work as an agency carer and have been for around 2 year now. The company I am with (1 year) is very difficult, the bosses of our branch are a young lad (main boss) and 2 young women. They know I'm pregnant btw.
I got my rota last Friday for this weekend, I went to a gentleman's house which I had not been to in a few months to notice he is now completely unable to do things such as move his own legs or stand up without being helped. I was shocked to see him like this because they are only sending 1 carer to him when clearly this needs two. Me being 22 weeks pregnant and only had a miscarriage 2 weeks before I got pregnant, I thought they would be gentle on my work load and the people I'm caring for.
I messaged my office and said I'm now struggling to help this gentleman as he is hurting my back and stomach a lot, because he cant move his body parts become heavier. They replied with ' well you have to put up with it until Monday we cant cover your call' this call (visit) is for tomorrow morning and night.
What right do I have to turn this down? Its putting my in pain. I've been sent here alone being 22 weeks pregnant. They've sent me to someone before who is receiving chemo which you cannot be around.
If I put my foot down and said no this is hurting me what could happen.
I'm only 19 and feel like they bully me about this.
