IUD Cramping

I have had my Mirena in for about a year and a half and they told me my periods would be irregular and I could experience cramping for the first 3-6 months, which I did. But I’m STILL experiencing these symptoms. I have severe cramping for what feels like at least two weeks every month and my periods usually last 1-2 weeks. So I feel like I’m never not experiencing PMS or bleeding and it’s been really hard. I went to the doctor about 8 months ago to have a check up and I told her about my symptoms and she basically just said that it’s normal???? She checked on my IUD and said it was fine too. So I’m considering having it taken out even though I really don’t want to because I love the reliability of this birth control. I’m also considering getting the Kyleena because it is smaller than the Mirena. Anyways, I would love to know if anyone else experiences these symptoms and if anyone has any advice.
